You’re Finally Going to Be Able to Buy That ‘Heated Rivalry’ Fleece Jacket — for a Good Cause

The limited-edition Team Canada fleece jacket from the series "Heated Rivalry" will be available for pre-order on June 3. Heated Rivalry producer Accent Aigu Entertainment and Province of Canada announced the release on Wednesday morning. The jacket is inspired by the one worn by the character Shane Hollander, played by Hudson Williams, in the queer hockey romance series. Final design details will be released on the pre-order date.
The jacket will be sold exclusively on the Province of Canada website, and 10 percent of the net profits will benefit You Can Play, a nonprofit organization that works to advance LGBTQIA+ inclusion in sports.
The National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA) will each match contributions for every jacket sold. Both organizations will match up to $25,000 CAD, creating a combined total of up to $50,000 CAD to directly support You Can Play.
"We chose You Can Play because their unwavering dedication to inclusivity mirrors the very heart of Heated Rivalry," Jacob Tierney, the show's creator and chief creative officer of Accent Aigu Entertainment, and Brendan Brady, CEO of Accent Aigu Entertainment, said in a release. "Teamwork, respect and the courage to be yourself are values that You Can Play brings to life every day. We’re proud to support their work creating spaces where everyone truly belongs."
David Palumbo, president and chair of You Can Play, expressed gratitude for the partnership. "Sport has the power to bring people together and partnerships like this show what’s possible when storytelling, community, and sport come together to support inclusion. We’re grateful to the Heated Rivalry team, Province of Canada, the NHL, and the NHLPA for standing with You Can Play and helping us continue the work of making hockey and sports everywhere a place where everyone belongs," Palumbo said in a release.
The jacket was manufactured in Canada using materials sourced from around the world. Designed as a collector's item, it was created in collaboration with the show's costume designer, Hanna Puley. A limited inventory will be available while supplies last.
"We’ve taken the time to create a beautiful product that we believe the fans will appreciate. This has been a meaningful project for us to work on, and we’re proud to create it in Canada with a strong focus on sustainability, quality and care," Province of Canada co-founders Julie Brown and Jeremy Watt said.
The series "Heated Rivalry" comes from the Canadian streaming service Crave and airs on HBO Max in the United States. Based on the romance novels by Rachel Reid, the show was created, written, and directed by Jacob Tierney.
The series follows two rival professional hockey players: Canadian Shane Hollander (played by Williams) of the fictitious Montreal Metros and Russian Ilya Rozanov (played by Connor Storrie) of the fictitious Boston Raiders. The show details their nearly decade-long relationship.
Since the premiere of the show, lead actors Storrie and Williams have presented at the Golden Globes, served as torchbearers in the 2026 Olympic Torch Relay, and attended the Met Gala. Both actors have also booked subsequent roles.
Storrie is in talks to join the cast of the A24 comedy "Peaked," written by Molly Gordon and Allie Levitan, which recently completed filming. Williams is set to star alongside Carrie-Anne Moss, Noah Reid, and Clark Backo in the Canadian drama "Yaga," a contemporary adaptation of the Baba Yaga myth based on a play by Kat Sandler.
